Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Why do you say that the investment fits perfectly in the current market situation?
A: In the current difficult economic situation, SIR Betterway’s investment strategy is even more valuable than in a booming economic environment because SIR Betterway can also earn money in the current falling market, meanwhile most other investment strategies are “on hold” and waiting for better times. That is why SIR Betterway suggests that you take advantage of the situation and diversify your investments with us.

Q: How it is possible to earn money in a falling stock market?
A: If you buy an asset, which is also called “long”, and sell it later when the price is higher, you have made a gain. But you can also sell first, with the objective to buy it later back at a lower price, then you benefit from a falling stock market. This is called “short”. This is to say that in the financial markets, it is possible to sell first (without possessing the asset) and buy it back later.

Q: Why do you say that the strategy is designed to earn money regardless of what the financial markets are doing?
A: SIR Betterway pays very low commissions for its trades. This allows us to adapt rapidly to up (buy) and down (sell) moves in the financial markets.

For instance, the investment strategy gives us a buy signal for the Eurostoxx50 for the next 2 days. Therefore, the investment manager buys to sell later at a higher price and earns a profit. Later, the market turns down so that the signal is to sell the Eurostoxx50. In this case, the investment manager sells first and buys later at a lower price and earns also a profit. (see also How it is possible to earn money in a falling stock market).

Q: How can I know whether SIR Betterway is a good investment for me?
A: SIR Betterway’s strategy must fit into your investment objectives and your risk tolerance. If you are looking to diversify your portfolio and thus spread your risk, SIR Betterway might be your way to enhance your risk-adjusted return (amount of risk you take in order to get the return).

Q: How much profit can I earn?
A: Like any other investment manager, SIR Betterway can not guarantee or predict the return. Furthermore, the return will depend on the market volatility, that is, the more changes in the price of an asset, the better the return. Despite the fact that SIR Betterway achieved nearly 4% a month during a volatile market, the realistic objective of SIR Betterway is to achieve 10% annual net after all fees.

Q: What is the fee structure?

A: The fixed fee of SIR Betterway is 2% per annum on the total value of the account. It is paid quarterly in advance of 0.50%.
The variable fee is 20% on profitability achieved and always paid at the end of each quarter. This fee only applies when the value of your investment is above the previous quarter; this is called the “High Watermark”.

Q: Why will I reduce the risk of my portfolio investing with SIR Betterway?

A: Your risk will be reduced because your portfolio is better diversified. This is due to the negative correlation between different asset classes: A negative correlation is for instance, that during periods of inflationary pressure, an investment in gold (increasing price) will outperform an investment in stocks and bonds (decreasing price).

Q: Which is the risk of the investment?

A: SIR Betterway has implemented very strict risk control rules in order to control risk. However, these rules cannot be seen as a guarantee for constant positive returns. The purpose of these rules is to limit potential losses.

The return on investment may fluctuate, and therefore an amount lower than expected may be returned. Additionally, historical results should not be regarded as a guarantee of future profitability.

It should also be noted that investments in foreign currencies are subject to fluctuations in exchange rates, which can have a positive or negative effect on the return of the investment.
